Anthony P. “Tony” Hample, 57, Bald Eagle, died Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Tyrone, son of Oscar and Madeline (McCollium) Hample.
Surviving are two sisters: Elizabeth Yarnell and husband, Jay, of Bald Eagle and Rebecca Wertz and husband, George, of Bellwood; three brothers: Michael and wife, Diana, of Warriors Mark, David and wife, Terry, of Erie and Jeffrey and wife, Cathy, of Anchorage, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar, and a sister, Madeline.
He retired in 2015 on disability from Gardner’s Candies, Tyrone, as a janitor with 36 years of service.
He was a 1978 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Tony enjoyed woodworking, feeding the birds and music. His passions were Notre Dame football and working outside.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, Fr. Jozef Kovacik celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
