William C. Sherry, 93, of Bald Eagle died Thursday August 31, 2017 at Epworth Manor.

He was born June 20, 1924 in Northwood, a son of Austin C. and Esther J. (Sessamen) Sherry. On February 1, 1947 at Ft. Guelick, Canal Zone, Panama he married Rosalie Rodriquez. She died January 22, 2006.

Surviving are 4 daughters, Sharon Rachel Gatten and husband Galen of Rockwell, Texas, Rubia Esther Sherry of Dallas, Texas, Robin Denise Poston of Mesquite, Texas and Billie Rose Sherry of Austin, Texas, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a sister Margaret Tepsic of Bald Eagle. He was preceded in death by a sister Mildred Savino and 2 brothers Paul and Bobby.

Mr. Sherry retired in 1986 from Trinity Brass and Copper, Dallas, Texas as shop foreman following 13 years service.

He was a member of the Bald Eagle Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, North American Hunting Club, Bald Eagle Fire Company, a life member of Anderson-Denny VFW, Tyrone and a life member of the NRA.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving as Tech. 5th Grade in the Medical Detachment 23 Infantry with service in Panama. He had also served with the National Guard 49th Armored Division, Dallas, Texas and the 104th Armored Cavalry, Tyrone.

Bill enjoyed metal working and had been a farmer in his earlier years. He was creative and innovative and had built his own cabin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 6, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Bald Eagle CMA Church with Rev. David Z. Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
