Irene F.  Fagley (Edmonston)



Irene F. Fagley, 89, of Tyrone died Saturday December 2, 2017 at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona.

She was born September 29, 1928 in Maple Ridge, a daughter of James H. and Onda M. (Edmonston) Bywater. She was twice married first to Charles R. Hunter of July 13, 1949 in Tyrone. He died February 24, 1994. She then married Dean A. Fagley on November 11, 1995 in Butler. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2003.

Surviving are three sons, Warren J. Hunter and wife Sharon of Duncansville, Charles R. Hunter II and wife Kim of Tyrone, Scott P. Hunter and wife Joy of Oregon, Wisconsin, seven granddaughters, 18 great-grandchildren and a step-son Paul A. Fagley of Butler. She was the last of her immediate family preceded in death by a grandson Jarrett Paul Hunter, two brothers Eldon Francis Bywater and Warren Bywater, a sister Geraldine C. Greene and a step-son Jeffrey D. Fagley.

She was a very active member of Tyrone Alliance Church where she was on the governing board for 50 years and had taught nursery school for 52 years.

She had been a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, Tyrone for five years. She was very active in the Blair Co. Association of the Blind.

Irene enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and her church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 7, 2017 at 11 A.M. atTyrone Alliance Church with Rev. Carl A. Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Charlottesville Cemetery. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the church on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
