Obituary for Jean F. Parker (Fisher)


Jean F. Parker, 78, of Tyrone died Monday July 16, 2018 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.

She was born February 28, 1940 in Bellefonte, a daughter of Guyer and Blanche (Eckenroth) Fisher. On January 9, 1960 in Winchester, Virginia she married Ronald E. Parker. He died May 8, 1984.

Surviving are three daughters; Deborah Grimshaw and husband Jeff of Canajoharie, New York, Susan Parker and husband David Griffiths of Maplewood, New Jersey, JoNelle Hadley and husband Peter of McAlevys Fort, two sons; Ronald Parker II and wife Amy of Tyrone, David Parker and wife Toni of Warriors Mark, ten grandchildren; Ron Grimshaw and wife Julie, Abigail Grimshaw and husband Noyan, Rafael and Safiyeh Griffiths, Daniel and Sarah Parker, Maggie and Madalyn Miller, Alissa and Seth Parker and a sister Carol Elder of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a sister Dixie Miller and a brother Daniel Fisher.

Mrs. Parker retired in 2000 from Tyrone Area School District as a kindergarden teacher following 23 years service. She recently served as a teacher for the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church Pre-School.

She was a 1958 graduate of Tyrone High School and a 1977 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She had attended Lower Creek Presbyterian Church.

Jean enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, going to the beach and taking vacations with her family.

Friends will be received on Thursday at Feller Memorial Home from 2 P.M. until the Memorial Service at 7P.M. with Pastor John Dean officiating.
