Obituary for Louise M. Sweitzer (Franchio)

Louise M. Sweitzer, 96, of Tyrone died Wednesday August 22, 2018 at Epworth Manor.

She was born May 6, 1922 in Tyrone a daughter of John and Mae (Guido) Franchio. On July 13, 1942 in Hagerstown, Maryland she married Harold F. Sweitzer. He died December 2, 1974.

Surviving are three daughters; Kay L. Spacht and husband Walter, Judy Haverstein and husband Robert and Brenda Sweitzer all of Tyrone, a son Robert of Tyrone, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, four brothers; John Franchio of Hollidaysburg, Albert Franchio of Florida, Pete Franchio of New York, James Franchio of Tyrone, and two sisters Kathleen Parmelee of Georgia and Vriginia Rose Lamanteer of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by a son Harold Jr., four brothers; Joseph, Michael, Gene and Richard Franchio and two sisters; Mary Itinger and Irene Rupert.

With her husband she opened East End Pizza, Tyrone in 1956 retiring in 2011 following 55 years service. She had also worked in the school cafeteria at Washington School, Tyrone.

Louise enjoyed bingo, the lottery and casinos. She was a hard worker and loved spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday August 27, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home with John Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 6 P.M.
