Isaac E.  Laird Jr.

Isaac E. “Ike” Laird Jr. formerly of Warriors Mark died Saturday May 30, 2015 at the Ridgeview Elder Care Rehab Center, Curwensville.

He was born June 16, 1936 in McAlevys Fort, a son of the late Isaac E. Sr. and Ruth (Houtz) Laird. On November 12, 1955 in Port Matilda he married Dorothy L. Fink.

Surviving are his wife, 2 sons David L. Sr. and wife Joyce of Bear, Delaware, Edward J. and fiancée Michelle Dixon of Tyrone, a daughter Wanda Hamer and husband Dale of Frenchville, 6 grandchildren, Chris Hamer and wife Hope, Teri Laird, David Jr. and wife Brandy, Denna McBride and husband John, Heather Camp and husband Gerald and Edward Jr., 7 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Luther Laird of Tyrone, Richard Laird of New Castle, Delaware, a sister Gladys Kurtz of Tyrone and a stepsister Theresa Harper of Tyrone, He was preceded in death by a son Keith L. Laird and a sister Anna Greene.

Mr. Laird retired on disability in 1994 from Specialty Composites, Newark, Delaware as maintenance mechanic following 4 years service. He was previously employed at Rodel, Inc., Newark, Delaware.

He was a member of the Church of Christ, Dixon, Missouri and the Masonic Lodge, Waynesville, Missouri. He was a 1955 graduate of Tyrone High School.

Ike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, attending Nascar races and bingo.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 2, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
