Obituary for Robert L. Kimberling



Robert L. Kimberling, 77, of Tyrone died Saturday February 13, 2016 at his residence.

He was born April 29, 1938 in Tyrone a son of Samuel J. Sr. and Margaret Irene (Boughamer) Kimberling. On February 4, 1966 at the Columbia Ave. Methodist Church, Tyrone he married Doris Rose Zanghi.

Surviving are his wife, a son Judson E. and wife Bonney of Tyrone, 2 daughters Melissa A. Kimberling of Tyrone, Cathy Pavlic and husband Tim of Altoona, a grandson Timothy E. Pavlic II of Altoona, a brother Philip E. “Ed” Kimberling and wife Frances of Tyrone , a brother-in law David G. Evans of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Franklin Henry and Samuel E. II Kimberling and two sisters Ruth I. Evans and Mary Jane Kimberling.

Mr. Kimberling retired in 2002 as owner operator of Kimberling Roofing and Heating following 45 years service. He previously was employed at Westvaco, Tyrone and H.L. Neil Roofing.

He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tyrone and the Howard Gardner American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, watching golf and sports and spending time with family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 16, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at Feller Memorial Home and on Tuesday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
