Martha E. “Marty” Rhoades, 91, of Tyrone died Tuesday June 21, 2016 at her home.

She was born November 12, 1924 in Tyrone, a daughter of Frank and Annie (Trimer) Schneider. On July 11, 1948 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone she married J. Edward Rhoades Jr. He died December 26, 1980.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary (Aye) Tepsic, Madeline MacNeill and husband Andrew and Natalie Rhoades all of Tyrone, a son William Rhoades of Hermosa Beach, California, five grandchildren, Austin, Evan, Mia, Damien and Monica and four sisters, Corrine Jones of Malvern, Frances Wertz of Tyrone, Julia Hoppee of Evanston, Illinois and Virginia Frantz of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a sister Jeanne Wallace.

Mrs. Rhoades was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Rita.

Marty lived and loved her faith and said a Rosary every day. She enjoyed gardening and watching birds.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday June 25, 2016 at 10 A.M. at St. Matthew Church, Fr. Jozef Kovacik officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation.
