Phillip E. "Ed"  Kimberling


Phillip E. “Ed” Kimberling, 76, of Tyrone died Friday November 25, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born December 12, 1939 in Tyrone a son of Samuel J. Sr. and Margaret Irene (Boughamer) Kimberling. On June 10, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona he married Frances A. Hock.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters Lynnette K. Latchford and husband Verden of Pinecroft, Jennette J., two grandsons Eric B. Latchford and wife Sarah of Tyrone, Travis E., a granddaughter Heather B., two great-grandsons Levi E. and Wyatt B. Latchford, a half sister Cathy Pavlic and husband Tim of Altoona, a sister-in-law Nancy Hock of Altoona, a sister-in-law Doris Kimberling of Tyrone, a brother-in-law David G. Evans of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family preceded in death by a daughter Pamela K. Kimberling, a granddaughter Erika B. Latchford, three brothers Franklin H., Samuel E. III, and Robert L. Kimberling, two sisters Ruth I. Evans and Mary Jane Kimberling and a brother-in-law Joseph F. Hock.

Mr. Kimberling retired in 2003 as general foreman at Chicago Rivet, Tyrone following 30 years service. He was previously employed at Epworth Manor, Conrail and Westvaco.

He was a member of the Hookies Fire Company, Tyrone.

He enjoyed antique cars, hunting, snowmobiling, wrestling, football and baseball.

Ed adored his two great-grandsons. He participated in the CORE donor program and even after he lost his battle for his own life he still was able to help people.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 28, 2016 at 7 P.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Ardean Latchford officiating, Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7P.M.
