Obituary for Patricia Ann Summers (Updike)

Patricia Ann Summers, 74, of Pensacola, Florida went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 20, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was a daughter of Richard and Louise (Hunter) Updike. On May 25, 1963 in Bald Eagle, Pa. she married John T. Summers. He died April 6, 1996.

Surviving are two sons Mark D. And James W. summers both of Pensacola, Florida, three grandchildren, Krystal A. Torres and Corbin J. Summers both of Pensacola, James A. Summers of Columbus, Georgia and a sister Janet Stewart of Bald Eagle, Pa.

Patty grew up in Tyrone, Pa. and relocated to Ft. Ashby, WV in 1977, then to Keyser WV in 1994 and finally to Pensacola, Florida in 2015;

She was a long time accountant serving in numerous places including the Allegheny League for Cripple Children, Leagues for the Aging and was a long time volunteer for the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, West Virginia for a number of Years.

Patty was an avid Penn State football fan, enjoyed gardening and loved the outdoors. Her strongest and most notable accomplishment was being a great mother and friend to her family.

There will be no services.
