Obituary for Gerald F. Gill

Gerald F. Gill, 83, of Bald Eagle died Saturday March 24, 2018 at UPMC Altoona.

He was born March 7, 1935 in Altoona, a son of Ralph A.and Mellie (Stanley) Gill. On March 24, 1958 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone he married Carole S. Sharer.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters; Lisa Hidlay and husband Gene of Lancaster, Jennifer Chuang and husband David of West Cheater, sons; Terrence W. and wife Susan of Danville, Matthew C. of Richmond, Vriginia, five grandchildren, Derrick, Rachel, Madison, David and Lilian. He was preceded in death by two brothers Richard and Thomas and a sister Mary Boytim.

Mr. Gill retired in 1998 from Chicago Rivet and Machine Company, Tyrone as a machine operator following 33 years service. He had been employed at Prat and Whitney, Hartford, Conn. for five years.

He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a Specialist 3rd Class at Nike Missile Site, Simsbury, Connecticut.

Jerry enjoyed gardening Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and Penn State. He had played the french horn in high school and had went to state Band.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 12 Noon at St. Matthew Church with Fr. Jozef Kovacik Celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home today from 6 to 8 P.M.
