Obituary for Barbara J. Herist (Wisnieski)




Barbara J. Herist, 68, of Warriors Mark died Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.

She was born August 9, 1949 in Altoona, a daughter of Robert L. Sr. and Delores (Pavlic) Wisnieski. On January 16, 1971 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone she married John C. Herist.

Surviving are her husband, two sons; John R. and wife Shelly of Idaho City, Idaho, Tyson B. and wife Carol of Altoona, two daughters; Loriel A. Herist of Warriors Mark, Lynet A. Marvin and husband Joshua of Lexington Park, Maryland, four grandchildren; Taylor, Haylee, Paytyn and Brynnley Herist, a sister Paula Wisnieski of Tyrone and a brother Robert Wisnieski Jr. of Indiana.

She was a 1967 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and a 1970 graduate of Geisinger School of Medicine with a Registered Nurse degree.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was past president of the Tyrone Woman’s Club.

She enjoyed bingo, reading, collecting seashells at the beach and singing in the choir at church.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday April 13, 2018 at 12 P.M. with Fr. Jozef Kovacik officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday April 12, 2018 at Feller Memorial Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.
