Richard Allen Barner, 72, of Tyrone died Tuesday June 18, 2019 at his residence.
He was born September 19, 1946 in Newton Hamilton, a son of Glenn A. and Mary (Wigfield) Barner. He was married to Christine Roberts who preceded him in death November 10, 2016.
Surviving are two daughters; Patricia Ann Matyonosky and husband Ronald of Greensburg, Kelly Christine of Tyrone, a son, Richard Allen II and wife Jennifer of Tyrone, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers; Gary of Round Rock, Texas and Wayne of Lovettsville, Virginia.
Mr. Barner retired in 2007 from Port Matilda Post Office as a rural mail carrier following 25 years service. He was formerly employed at Pinkerton Security, Georgetown. He was a member of Spruce Creek United Methodist Church.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a Sergeant with the 99th Transport Squadron.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife, fishing and computers.
Friends will be received Friday June 21, 2019 at Feller Memorial Home from 6 P.M. until the funeral service at 8 P.M. The Tyrone Honor Guard will accord veterans honors at the service.
