Obituary for James A. Kaspick

James A. Kaspick, 75, of Tyrone died Saturday September 28, 2019 at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System.

He was born August 25, 1944 in Altoona, a son of John A. Sr. and Mary (Kozak) Kaspick. He was formerly married to Barbara Gotshall on December 30, 1965 in Johnstown.

Surviving are two daughters; Heather A. of Altoona, Tara M. McIntre and husband Michael of Mahaffey, two sons; James A. II and wife Zenaida of Santee, California, Wayne C. and wife Chasity of Tyrone, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Isabel Rumberger, Mildred Nestlerode and Virginia Smith and two brothers Stephen and John A. Jr. .

He was a US Navy veteran. He enlisted in May 1964 and retired in 1989 at the rank of Chief Hospital Corpman. He served in Vietnam with the 3rd Marine Division as a Hospital Corpman.

Jim was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, the Tyrone Hookies, TyroneVFW Post# 4559, Tyrone Bassmasters and Buckmasters, the Central Pa. Chapter NERA and a life member of the Tyrone Sportsman Club

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He coached youth football for several years. He enjoyed bass fishing the most and held different offices at the Bassmaster Club level including Treasurer of District 4 PaBass and was State Treasurer for PaBass

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday October 3, 2019 at 12 Noon at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Fr. Jozef Kovacik Celebrant. The Blair County Honor Guard will accord veterans honors following Mass. There will be no viewing or visitation.
