Mary Ann Hall, 95, formerly of Tyrone passed away peacefully Monday April 6, 2020 at Senior Commons at Powder Mill, York where she had been a resident for the past six years.
She was born November 4, 1924 in Alexandria, a daughter of Earl and Gail (Lehman)Varner. On February 2, 1946 at the Columbia Ave. Methodist Church, Tyrone she married Max Hall. He died October 24, 2002.
Surviving are sons; Steve and wife Perla of Minot, North Dakota, Bob and wife Chris of York, Jeff and wife Phyllis of York, grandchildren; Emma and Mark Hall, Erin Messer, Michele Miller, Chris Ilyes, Kim Idland and Kristina Fritz and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son David and 2 brothers; Carl and John Varner.
She a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tyrone.
Mary was an avid bowler and continued bowling into her middle 80’s. In addition she was involved in a bridge club with her many friends.
She and her husband enjoyed time riding on a pontoon boat with her brother Carl Varner and his wife Betty. They celebrated holidays with trips to York, Pa. to visit their sons and family.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, She touched many lives.
Graveside services will be private. Burial at Grandview Cemetery, Tyrone.
