Robert L. Saylor, 73, of Sinking Valley passed away peacefully Saturday April 18, 2020 at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg following injuries received in an outdoor accident in February.

He was born November 9, 1946 in Tyrone, a son of Harry H. and Josephine J. (Maisano) Saylor. On October 27, 1984 in Tyrone he married Patti Androski.

Surviving are his wife, a son Tobin of McConnelsburg, a daughter, Josephine Hufnagle and husband Tom of Hanover, four grandchildren; Drew, Joseph, Grace and Gabrielle, a great-grandson Brantley and three sisters; Frances Phoenix of Bellefonte, Donna Rupert and husband Dick of Tyrone and Shirley Wheland of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by two brothers; William and John Saylor and a sister Mary Dickson.

He retired in 2009 from Chicago Rivet, Tyrone as a machinist and the shipping Department following 30 years service.

He was a 1965 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He was a member of the Howard Gardner American Legion, Anderson-Denny VFW, Tyrone Hookies, Tyrone Elks and the Tyrone Monogram Club. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Bobby enjoyed spending time with friends hunting deer at Mitt’s Stream Hunting Camp, Warriors Mark and hunting snow shoe rabbits at Hare Camp. Upper Peninsula, Michigan.
He was an avid sports fan particularly Tyrone and Penn State wrestling and football and also Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He loved hunting and fishing in Canada.

He loved spending opening day for trout with his children and grandchildren. Bobby was fond of being with his family on his porch in the summertime.

There will be no services. A get together with family and friends is planned in the future.
