Obituary for Josephine M. Shope
Josephine M. Shope, 60, of Petersburg died Tuesday September 1, 2020 at her residence.
She was born August 25, 1960 in Altoona, a daughter of Mary Catherine (Shaffer) Isenberg. On August 16, 1997 in Williamsburg she married Michael D. Shope.
Surviving are her husband, sons; Ryan and wife Lesley, Adam and Levi, grandchildren, Victoria, Cole, Chase, Mason and Brielle, her mother of Williamsburg and siblings; Sharon Baker of Alexandria, Catherine Dively of Alexandria, Karen Oakman of Shippensburg, Thomas Murtiff of Tyrone, Calvin Murtiff of Altoona and Bobbi Isenberg of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by a brother John A. Shaffer Sr.
Mrs. Shope retired from J.C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon as medical secretary following 19 years service. She was previously employed at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College and Proctor Silex, Bellmeade.
She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon. She was a 1978 graduate of Williamsburg High School and a 1997 graduate of South Hills Business School with a degree in Medical Coding.
She enjoyed camping, fishing and walking in the woods and on trails. She had a quirky sense of fashion and loved to wear hats and scarves.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday September 4, 2020 at 11 A.M. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon with Fr, Mark Reed Celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Tyrone. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone Thursday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M.
