Obituary for Martha K. Shirk
Martha K. Shirk, 93, of Tyrone died Sunday December 20, 2020 at Penn Highlands Tyrone Emergency Room.
She was born January 21, 1927 in Sandy Ridge, a daughter of Frank and Dessie (Wiser) Kliem. She was married to Paul Shirk who preceded her in death in March, 1984.
Surviving are a two daughters; Della Harris and husband Albert and Ellen Shirk both of Tyrone, and a grandson Matthew of Duncansville. She was the last of her immediate family preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
She was a member of Northwood Baptist Chapel where she had been a Sunday school teacher and worked in the nursery.
She was kind hearted and would do anything for people including cooking and preparing meals for the homebound. She loved spending time with her family and was an avid reader of the bible. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a history buff.
