Obituary for Lois K. Price (Keatley)
Lois Anne Price, 94, of Tyrone died Monday February 8, 2021 at Harmony of State College.
She was born September 5, 1926 in Bellefonte, a daughter of Gilbert Allan and Lois L. (Lucas) Keatley. On July 15, 1946 in Philadelphia she married Robert C. Price who preceded her in death on July 15, 2008.
Surviving are a son Robert A, Price and wife Lisa of Littleton, Colorado and 4 grandchildren; Dawn Hevner and husband Scott of Laurel, Delaware, Kristin A. Merry and husband Rob of Parker, Colorado, Sarah K. Price of Littleton, Colorado, Emily A. Price of Windemere, Florida and 3 great-grandchildren; Ashton Hevner, Genevieve and Colton Merry.
Lois graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in Nursing and passed her Pa. State Boards as a Registered Nurse. She received a Masters in Public Health from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She retired in 1988 after 34 years of service from the Tyrone Area High School where she served as school nurse. She was a faculty adviser for the Future Nurses Club at the high school where many of her students remembered her for her guidance and mentoring. She had also worked at various local hospitals as a private duty nurse.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Tyrone and the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA). She had also been in the Nurse Cadet Corp during WWII.
Memorial services will be held at a later time and place to be determined by the family.
The family requests that any memorial gifts be made in her name to Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Logan Avenue, Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
