Obituary for Glenn R. Potts

Glenn R. Potts, 76, of Tipton died Tuesday May 13, 2014 at his residence.

He was born January 3, 1938 in Columbia, a son of John and Mary Frances (Wiser) Potts. He married Laquita Mignot who survives in Tipton.

Also surviving are 2 sons, James Brett and wife Jean of Tyrone, Glenn R. Jr. and wife Bonnie of Tipton, a daughter, Anita Potts and fiancée Russell Bradford of Tipton, 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Chelsea, Aaron, Austin and Chase, 3 step-grandchildren, Talina, Theo and Anthony, 3 great-grandchildren Haven, Gage and Serenity, a sister Donna Himes and husband Mike of Bellwood , 2 brothers William and wife Darlene of Tipton and Charles and wife Barb of Bellwood and a sister in law Sandy Potts of Tipton. He was preceded in death by a sister Linda Freed and 4 brothers Thomas, Gerald, Paul and Robert.

Mr. Potts had been employed for Purolator as a courier for 25 years. He had been previously worked at Batchelor’s Service Station and Harrington Service Station both of Tyrone.

He was a member of the Tipton Fire Company and the Tyrone VFW.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea and also served in the Tyrone National Guard.

Glenn was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler Fan. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren. One of Dads greatest joys in life was to take rides in his 57 Chevy Belair Hardtop! There wasn’t a day went by that he wasn’t talking or riding in his pride and joy. He was a great man, an excellent husband and an outstanding father. He always did for others before himself.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 12 Noon at Hillside Community Church, 508 S. Cambria St., Bellwood with Rev. Ken Beichler officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at the church.
